Breast Cancer Awareness Day
October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth and at TAWG we understand the importance of spreading awareness and encouraging regular check-ups.
That’s why we welcomed nurse practitioner Angela into our head office, to demonstrate self-checking techniques and to advise on what to look out for and what to do should you find something irregular.
Statistics:
According to UK statistics, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, affecting roughly 1 in 7 women during their lifetime, with around 55,000 women and 400 men diagnosed annually; 80% of cases occur in women over 50 years old.
We also raised over £200 in the process for Cancer Research UK.
