We are now the proud sponsors of Garforth Villa Women FC!
Garforth Villa Women FC is a Grassroots football team based in Leeds, that plays in the Women’s Beginner League Starters. Our very own Katie Collings is a proud member of the team.
The team had been looking for a sponsor, and it was something that the TAWG in the Community team was keen to get involved in.
Overcoming the gender divide in football, Garforth Villa is proud to offer an open-age football team specifically for women. The club is dedicated to helping female players take their skills to the next level and reach their fullest potential. With experienced coaches, provided equipment, and a friendly team atmosphere, Garforth Villa FC is committed to providing an inclusive space for all levels of female players.
“Firstly, and most importantly, our team would like to thank you so much for agreeing to sponsor us for the next two years. It means the world to us as it allows us to compete and grow as a team. As you know, women’s football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK. The FA is pushing to make it a sport for everyone, not just the stars representing us all in Australia at the moment. Therefore, they have created a new league called the Women’s Beginners League which we will be joining in September. It’s aimed at women who haven’t played since school, or who have never kicked a ball before in their life. It creates a safe space for women to learn about the game, get stuck in and have a go, get fitter and healthier, and enjoy the beautiful game in a fun and friendly environment. Our team has grown from 5 players to just over 20 in less than a year, so you can imagine what a great, friendly group Training At Work will be joining forces with for our first-ever season.”
